NANT Systems

NANT Systems, innovative bioreactors for the automation of cell therapy manufacturing.  

Having evolved from manual cell culture principles, NANT systems are designed to achieve a safe, traceable and reproducible manufacturing process while reducing the complexity of the cell therapy production process and batch variability. 

NANT Systems are suitable in a scale-out scenario: different autologous batches can be expanded simultaneously and, depending on manufacturing requirements, cell therapy manufacturers may choose between NANT 001 or NANT XL Systems.  

The NANT 001 allows the small-scale production of adherent stem cells, while the NANT XL System is designed for mid-up to large-scale batches. 

Both systems share the same concept: a bioreactor with integrated software, and its disposable cartridge. 

The bioreactor is a benchtop instrument that allows automated seeding, expansion and harvesting of cells, the main phases within the production of a cell therapy product.  The whole manufacturing process can be continuously monitored by integrated software that allows secure user identification, logging and safe data collection of batch records. The cartridge is the only element that gets in touch with cells, featuring a sterile single-use disposable that, thanks to aseptic connectors and disconnectors, enables the installation of the bioreactor in a Grade-D environment. 

Unique features are integrated imaging and remote monitoring. The integrated, fully automated, and auto-focusing microscope enables visual monitoring of the cell culture throughout the process, while remote monitoring enables tracking of the key process parameters of cell culturing without the need to access the clean-room.
