Jet mill feed rate: 0.01 to 700 kg/h
Initial particle size: 500 to 1’500 µm
Final particle size: 0.5 - 10 µm
This spiral jet mill generates a supersonic speed vortex into which the material is introduced, utilizing the vacuum created by a venturi-nozzle. Each particle of material being carried in the gas stream is subject to centrifugal and radial forces. Micronization occurs via particle collision. A static classifier determinates the particle size profile. Because spiral jet mills have no rotating components, there are no bearings, shaft seals or lubricants required. Hence, no contamination is possible. They are mainly used for processing APIs.
