New from Anéolia – ELYOS® handheld analyser for MAP gas analysis and leak detection

Anéolia has expanded its range of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) quality control solutions with ELYOS®, a compact handheld instrument that combines gas analysis and leak detection in a single device. Designed for routine production-line inspections, ELYOS® enables simultaneous measurement of O₂ and CO₂ concentrations while also checking package integrity on the same sample.

The instrument is designed for quality control of MAP packaging used across the food industry. Measurements are performed directly through a septum: the operator places the package, inserts the sampling needle and starts the test. Gas analysis results are displayed in approximately 1 second, while leak detection typically takes 10 seconds*. All measurement data are stored automatically for further documentation and analysis.

Weighing only 500 g, ELYOS® features a portable handheld format that supports frequent testing in production environments. The instrument is equipped with an AMOLED touchscreen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 240 Hz touch sampling rate, providing clear presentation of results and responsive operation.

By combining gas composition analysis and leak testing within one instrument, ELYOS® simplifies routine MAP quality control and reduces the need for separate measuring devices. Automatic data storage supports traceability requirements, while the portable design allows measurements to be performed wherever packaging verification is required.

Typical applications include quality control of modified atmosphere packaging for products such as meat, cheese, bakery products and snacks packed in trays or flexible bags, as well as routine packaging checks performed directly on the production line.
